Learning by Design: Good Video Games as Learning Machines
James Paul Gee (Oh man of infinite knowledge and wisdom in the games and education arena!) has written a paper titled, "Learning by Design: Good Video Games as Learning Machines"
There are two sites I think you may enjoy. The first is my company's site in the USA. We make Code3D simulation software, it is a 3D training software for emergency responders. It was just released on the market and is compeltely customizable, it is amazing compared to what else is avilable for emergency responders currently. It is also very affordable. Next year we plan to have a team training/network tool available that is affordable compared to other team traning simulations.
The other is this site: http://fas.org/gamesummit/Resources/Summit%20on%20Educational%20Games.pdf
It is a PDF about educational games. 50 some pages long but really interesting to people in this industry.
Confucius once said-
I hear and I forget.
I see and I remember.
I do and I understand.
With that in mind, I'm particularly interested in the use of simulators, simulations and gaming in adult education.
Whilst I'm employed to provide Emergency Management and Emergency Risk Management education and training activities, my interests are across all facets of the use of this technology in adult education activities.
